I can’t believe I’m playing tig on the Internet, but as Shaun Milne explains on his blog, that is what a meme is.
Shaun tigged me after being tigged by Neil McIntosh, and not wanting to be left out the fun and games, I’m joining in with my stab at the Week in Media Meme.
I won’t be tigging anyone at the end of this, because I’m a big bloody spoilsport.
I’ve Flicked Through
Not much for the first part of the week, I have to say. My girlfriend and me were visiting her parents, so I was mostly out the loop. More accurately, I was too drunk to even turn a page.
I was back in the office on Thursday though and read the usual fare that S&UN furnish my colleagues and me with on a daily basis, namely The Sun, The Daily Record, The Herald and The Daily Mail.
This month I was a little late getting Empire so I’ve just finished that off, and I’ll probably pick up the new issue with its bumper Summer 2008 preview over the weekend.
And I’ve also taken to perusing Glamour magazine every time that I drop a log. I used to take a comic in to the reading room with me, but my girlfriend leaves them lying around so I flick through it every time I’m on the porcelain throne, which is fairly often. I’ve become an avid fan of Glamour actually. The blend of celebrity news and fashion pointers seems to facilitate the movement of my bowels.
What I’ve Watched
The Season 5 box set of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that I got from my girlfriend’s parents has been for a few spins in the machine.
I tuned in to a fair bit of CNN to see what was happening in Iowa this week.
Again, because I was visiting my girlfriend’s parents I never saw much TV for the first part of the week. We did switch the box on for New Year of course, and I was delighted to see that folk in England have Myleene Klass host their Hogmanay show, unlike us Scots who get Jackie Bird trotted out for us every year. Myleene did a great job. She even played the piano live on the show, very talented. In fact, Myleene has been interviewed in the afore-mentioned Glamour.
Moving on, I dare say I’ll soon settle back to my normal viewing habits of old Only Fools And Horses episodes for the nth time.
What I’ve Surfed
I enjoyed Vanity Fair’s article on the new Indiana Jones film, and thought their exclusive pics were pretty spiffy too.
The BBC’s US elections 2008 page has taken a few hits from me this week.
Other than that, the usual suspects that are on my blogroll to the right.
What I’ve Listened To
I made up a new CD for the Bobmobile which has a lot of Radio 1 Established 1967 on it. I’m digging that Mutya Buena song with Amy Winehouse and I keep putting Kate Nash’s new tune on repeat in the morning because it cheers me up no end.
