The Daily Telegraph has posted a story about the Galle Crater on Mars looking like a happy face – decades after NASA’s Viking Orbiter I took pictures of it in the late 1970s and 22 years after Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons made reference to it in Watchmen.
It’s been a busy time for the Red Planet lately, after the Mars explorer Spirit beamed back images of what appeared to be an alien lounging about on a rock. There’s been no sign of a giant blue man up there yet, although you will see it happen this summer.
