I’ve been appointed chief reporter at The Wishaw Press, and unlike Perry White I may actually insist that people call me “Chief.”
Only joking. Probably.
Anyway, after nine years at The Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser, where I was won Scottish Weekly Journalist of the Year in 2005 and 2006, I’m moving over to our sister paper in Wishaw.
It’s pretty exciting, decent opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started. There will be me, two news reporters, a sports reporter and a photographer. Our editor comes over once a week because he also has another two titles under his belt, so there’s a bit more responsibility on me to get it right.
I kind of know the photographer Jim, and I’ve worked with Alex the reporter before so she’s cool, but a couple people have jumped ship recently and that means positions for another news reporter and the sports reporter have to be filled also. It’s all go.
Anyway, I start a week on Monday, February 18.

Congrats Bob.
You should and every conversation with the people working under you with “…and don’t call me Chief!”, if it’s relevant or even if it’s not.

Congrats Bobbo!
Will you be smoking cigars regularly now? All good News Editors smoke cigars y’know.

Yeah, I’ll be smoking them! “Has anybody seen Kent?!?”
