Ostensibly I’m posting this picture so I can point you in the direction of Yvonne Craig’s website, which features a wonderfully trippy Batgirl theme song, but really I just wanted to show you a picture of her at the beach. Fighting crime in a bikini is awesome. This snap was taken while they were flming the “Surf’s Up, Joker’s Under” episode of the 1960s Batman TV show which starred Adam West.
Anyway, the lyrics on the theme tune are pure Sixties psychedelia: “Batgirl, are you a chick who fell in from outer space, or are you real with a tender warm embrace? Batgirl, whose baby are you?”
Yvonne’s website is a lot of fun, and she’ll even sign that picture for you, along with some other cool ones like these where she is behind-the-scenes with West reading the comic that introduced Batgirl,doing a Bat-kick and getting changed into costume while guest villain Ethel Merman ( Lola Lasagne) looks on.
