Bonus Pin-Up Thursday!

This beauty is from the early days of Marvel’s non-team The Defenders #6. Art is from Sal Buscema.

Crom! This is from Marvel UK’s Savage Tales #5. I forgot to check when it was published but it will be either late 1970s or early 1980s. Actually, the date on the bottom left of the pic says it’s from 1974. The signature is “Tevegan” but the name is a new one on me.

Now, I’m 99.99% sure that’s by John Byrne, but it is from Wolverine #1, and the pencils in the main story are by John Buscema.

Bonus Pin-Up Thursday!

Since it’s my birthday this week I thought I’d give myself a little treat. So this cracker is from Marvel UK’s Spider-Man Annual 1979, one of my favourite books when I was a kid. I’m not totally sure who drew this, but it looks like maybe John Romita to me.

This Al Milgrom pin-up is from back in West Coast Avengers #3 when Mockingbird left Hawkeye. She might have been a Skrull though.

Back in the day I used to really dig Ron Lim, but he’s dropped off my radar in recent years. This Mantis pin-up is from Silver Surfer Annual #1.

Bonus Pin-Up Thursday!

Marvel produced a glut of mutant books during the 1990s and X-Men Chronicles #1 was probably one of those that should have been canned. That said, this Tom Grummett pin-up of Magneto and Rogue is pretty decent.

I’m very impressed by Eric Shanower, the work he does on Age of Bronze is inspiring stuff. This is a pin-up he did for Fables #75. I believe that’s Red Riding, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty taking potshots at Prince Charming.

Bonus Pin-Up Thursday!

I love the way Keith Pollard and Joe Sinnott make this pin-up of Doctor Doom look old-school Marvel. It’s from Fantastic Four Annual #21.

Bonus Pin-Up Thursday!

This is a cool interpretation of everyone’s favourite Amazon from Wonder Woman #120. I believe it’s by Nick Cardy, though I have to admit the name is not one I’m familiar with.
