Marvel Mystery Comics #9

This week we’re looking at a couple of splash pages featuring classic punch-ups done in the Marvelous Marvel Manner.

First up is this cracker from Marvel Mystery Comics #9, when Marvel Comics was actually called Timely Comics. It says the art is by Bill Everett and Carl Burgos, the creators of the Human Torch and the Sub-Mariner.

Here’s a larger version for you to look at.

Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1

And from Steve Ditko, here is an absolute belter from the classic Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, where Spidey takes on the Sinister Six and each one of them gets a splash.

Take a closer look at Doc Ock getting a pasting.

  1. You may wish to take a closer look at your Ditko spider-man, because that is Frank Miller art from Amazaing Spider Man Annual 15.

I homage to the Dikto page to be sure, but that is Frank Miller art.
