It’s Splash Page Sunday!

Avengers #58

Here’s a couple of similar splashes for you to feast your eyes on. The first is by Big John Buscema from The Avengers #58.

T’Challa, the Prince of Wakanda, bids you to look at the bigger version.

Catwoman Volume 2 #37

And from Catwoman Volume 2 #37, the great Paul Gulacy has Selina slinking around a rooftop.

Go look at the big version.

  1. I’m currently re-reading Essential Avengers Volume 3. Yes, that splash page that John Buscema penciled for issue #58 is superb and iconic. The entire issue is extremely well drawn, especially the final page with the Vision. On more than one occasion Big John stated he was not especially fond of drawing superheroes. But he certainly did stunning work on Avengers in the late 1960s, some of the best in his career.

As for Paul Gulacy, I am also a fan of his work. His style has been described as “cinematic.” That quality is certainly on display here.
